Viessmann: a company with tradition and vision

The picture shows an exterior shot of the Viessmann company head office in Allendorf (Eder).

For four generations, Viessmann has been helping to improve people's quality of life with innovative technologies – initially with heat. During this time, the company has evolved from a heating manufacturer to a provider of intelligent heating and energy solutions. Technical progress is not, however, Viessmann's sole focus. Sustainable thinking and action are also firmly embedded in the corporate values. In this way, Viessmann helps to create and preserve living spaces for future generations.

Viessmann is large and international

From Allendorf to the world. Since its foundation in 1917, Viessmann has grown steadily as a company. Together with partners from different industries, our members work every single day to meet the ever-changing needs of customers and to change the energy supply in a way that is sustainable.

Living and implementing sustainability

As a business with over 100 years of history, Viessmann focuses on long term goals. For example, when it comes to one of today's greatest challenges – the energy transition. The heating market offers enormous potential for energy savings. As part of this market, Viessmann is aware of its responsibility. One goal is to actively shape the transformation of the industry and to drive the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energies. This is reflected in the company's product portfolio, and in other areas too.

Combining economic, ecological and social goals

Viessmann focuses on sustainability as the intersection of economy, environment and social commitment. This is illustrated by a number of solutions and projects – from innovative heating systems powered by hydrogen to international reforestation projects. Other ambitious goals that Viessmann is currently pursuing are shown in the Climate Report published at the end of 2021. The net zero emissions target is scheduled to be achieved by 2050, both in our own operations and in the value chains of which Viessmann is a part.
